A common question that I get is what is a lip oil and where does it fit between lip balm and lip gloss? I know that when it comes to skincare and beauty it can get confusing. We have a lot of different products that we use and it can get confusing what goes where and what we use it for.
So, if you’re wondering should you use a lip oil, hopefully, this post will answer that question for you today.
What Do Lip Oils Do
Lip oils help with skin hydration, removing dead skin cells, and chapped lips. It helps to make a smoother and healthier surface for you to apply your other lip products on. It can also help to increase the time that your other lip products last on your lips.
What Is A Lip Oil Made With
Lip oils are typically made with a mixture of different oils that are good for increasing skin health and hydration. These oils can include Coconut oil, Vitamin E oil, flavored oils, and more. The consistency is a lot thinner than lip gloss and definitely not as thick as using a lip balm. It’s a little bit thinner than what you would use as a body oil but definitely not as thin as water.
When To Apply Your Lip Oil
I like to apply my lip oil right before getting out of the shower and first thing in the morning after brushing my teeth. I do this so that I can apply it before adding other lip products to my lips.
However, you can really use your lip oil whenever you want to. I actually also keep one in my purse at all times when I feel my lips are dry.
That’s it. If you don’t have a lip oil that you love to use, check out the ones that we offer inside of the shop here.
